A Teaching & Research Activity Held at Junior High Department of East Campus AFLS

During the first class in the afternoon of Tuesday, October 21st, 2014, Teacher Yu Qian held an Open Class at Class 802, teaching Unit 4, titled “What’s the Best Movie Theater?” in Volume 1, Grade 8 of New Target English. Before the Open Class, Teacher Yu had prepared the class seriously, studied the students carefully, reorganized the contents in the textbook based on the students’ capabilities to learn and accept them, and engaged in meticulous study thereof with fellow teachers on the same teaching preparation panel. During the class, Teacher Yu reviewed what had been learned and introduced what to be learned through funny pictures, attracting the students’ attention. Her step-by-step teaching led the students to new knowledge in an unconsciously way; her affable and humorous manner in teaching enabled the students to participate actively in the process in a lively classroom atmosphere.

During the appraisal session after the class, the teachers from the panel reached a consensus that Teacher Yu is a very careful and serious teacher with solid foundation in her teaching capabilities and clear aims in her teaching goals. It is a typical class of effectiveness worthy of learning from.
